If you create a Twitter account you better get the Russian mafia to manage it from an Eastern European country or you ass will be toast. Only a Non-IT person would be that stupid to create a Twitter account and defame Chevron. Have you heard about the substantial investment Chevron is making in Cyber Security. Do not create an account. They will find you!!!

Very true what 150153 is saying. Plus if the twitter account is setup with an anonymous email that was created in a public wifi spot, how could CVX lawyers even get the true owner's identity? Does anyone think CVX will also track down the IP address of each poster on Twitter. No, they won't unless the post is very defamatory or poses a threat to any one person. What is most likely to happen is that Chevron lawyers will appeal to Twitter to close the account. It is unlikely Twitter will comply unless the aforementioned about actual threats or severe defamatory remarks being made.

The world only cares that their gasoline prices are down. Do you think they care about us "rich oil folks" who are screwing them at the pump?

Yup all of the protection of your identity that this site promises and twitter promises goes out the window as soon as the lawyers get involved. I've seen it before, they supena the sites and they hand everything over without question. Not to mention the how easy it is for someone to hack your accounts or sites these days.

I think it's a great idea to set it up on Twitter. Just do so with caution to keep your identity safe, and don't tell anyone including your friends. Create the new account using a new Gmail or Yahoo Mail that you setup at a public wifi spot (Starbucks, etc.). Copy and paste only the best comments from this Layoff site. Give your new Twitter account an easy name to find... I suggest #ChevronLayoffs.

How about cvxwillsuemyass? Because that is what will happen...either defamation, breaking confidentiality clause or something else.
