If this is leadership, you guys are screwed.
Signed - QCOM stock holder. Not a QCOM employee.

SM = Steve Martin LOL

Totally agree, especially on the first sentence. The only thing that one could infer from that sentence is, after all the stupid things they have done, it is surprising that the company is 30 years old.
This comfirms that SM is indeed the pivot man in this circle jerk
"The company is exactly 30 years old, which is amazing given all the things we have done". Even his first statement doen't make any sense. WTF does it mean? Is 30y too short, too long, ... Typical Q SVP talk... just words with no meaning. Empy statements, with no actual message. Good talkers getting promos. Note the 5 years plan ideas (chinese style) and read "we have to get through the next 5 years somehow, but we are not sure how". Say it aloud: HIGH MARGIN HW CHIP BUSINESS IS GONE. Let it sink in...
OP - If you are indeed experiencing much success with your career & investments what is it that motivates you to spend your time posting to this board? Given your position in QCOM stock, you're hoping that the result of your posts will further boost its valuation??
he said "It is part of being a 30-year-old company that has been successful. You have to make these pivots to be successful again." What I read from it is lot of old folks will will be laid off.
Ah yes, bartenders...the original arm servers. If only kegs could tweet
Let's pivot. I'm thinking we should get in craft beer brewing.
Breaking things up into more business units has the additional advantage that they can be cleaved off, if they so desire.
Pretty stoked abt dat announcement doe
This guy Steve Mollen"cough" is in over his head. Dude shouldn't even be a CEO anywhere. Does should be working in the cat food company ceiling tin cans. It doesn't know his ass from his elbow's. He ruined a company thatI was so enamored with from the early 2000's. I even bought a Globalstar satellite phone. I sold my stocks when they were in the upper 60s. And I still lost money
Based on this article, Steve, and his speech writes are ready for some serious electoral run this season. Total rubbish, hand waving, no answers BS. No VC would invest in me if I gave them that kind of shit.
Yes we are screwed unless current management is thrown out. It would be great to have some non employee shareholders make some noise, and to tell Stevie boy to give back the 50 million dollar stock grant
OP again. I have worked at several startups that eventually went public and then crashed and burned because the CEO et al. couldn't adapt to the changing market dynamics. I hope that isn't the case here since I'm invested in QCOM stock. I have my fingers crossed.
Anonymous146864, well Barry thinks he is smarter, and he's way more successful. Activists are sharks and targeted CEOs are...
OP here, actually I am very successful both in my career and my investments, it's sad to see the lack of a definitive path forward for QCOM. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid, bub.
OP - I'm sure you're smarter than the CEO on and other execs with all the information, makes sense to me! I bet you are super successful and rich beyond anyone's dreams and you just lower yourself to post on the layoff.com, totally see that happening.
Y'all don't got da skills!
