Having gone through the better part of the last 15 months from learning of the routes in our area being initially (and secretly) put out for 3rd party bid, to finding out the definite SDO closure date to finally winding down the SDO site, all I can say is I experienced a prolonged degree of stress from just not knowing WHEN it was going to shut down for sure to stress over what I was going to do afterward. Now that all of that is behind me, the sense of relief now far outweighs the sense of regret over the job loss. I'm personally glad our SDO closure was never delayed until a date of "who knows?" For me, that's no way to make a living or plan for the future. It's even less useful than having a target closing date. While I don't know anything specific regarding Charlotte (or any of the other SDOs still running, for that matter), realistically what are the chances Charlotte remaining open for now is anything but a temporary putting-off of the inevitable? I mean, I hope your SDO hub stays open and you keep your job, and I suppose it's good you're happy about that, but it doesn't sound like much of anything to be happy about long-term. Best of luck to you, in any case!

You shouldn't be happy you should be pissed. They don't want to pay anymore severance pay than they have to.Now they will do what they did to Dallas and make the job so bad that you will quit on them. Trust me they have a courier ready to take your job they're just not ready to handle all of it yet,. soon as they are your done.If you have a letter with a release date on it hold them to it, get your severance and get out. A new career is out there waiting for you with a quality company that will appreciate your efforts.
