@5543--I did this and lost my job for questioning their lack of integrity and ethics. No matter I have a great job now in a traditional university. Keep up the pressure--post here often and tell your colleagues to post here as well. Go to the DoE if they don't stop these high-pressure tactics. The people in management know nothing about education. This school can be saved and managers shit canned if you put these car salesmen on notice. Unite and push back, EAs at UOP.

Thank you 143770. I am a supporter of UOP perpetuating itself. Manager's measuring number of applications have to be retrained. Representatives should only be completing applications for student's who have clearly identified their goals and understand obtaining a degree. Just filling out applications is not only inappropriate, but is an expense to process. Now that many associate degrees are eliminated, jamming into a bachelor program is inappropriate. The university has correctly identified many associate degrees to not be relevant to the job market. Yes, this may result in less enrollment representatives and managers. Time to do the right thing or go get another job.

@5543--you are correct. This is why employees need to tell management to halt all sales pressure tactics e.g., monthly one-on-ones, discussions concerning ways to ask for referrals. Tell managers and directors that traditional schools don't do this. A yearly review is what is standard in many universities. If your management team doesn't comply, go anonymously to the DoE. You can stop these sleazy car sales practices, and you just might save this school and your job from falling into the abyss.

Again. Saying, "I was instructed to do that", is not a defense. Enrollment Representatives will take the fall. It's difficult to change the culture when you need a job, but can be done with employees banding together to do the right thing. I believe we are being investigated for aggressive sales practices. Why would we perpetuate this practice? Appears powers that be have decided they will make all the money while the taking is good and then of course be the first to place blame and abandon the ship.

Executives and the morons who drink the Kool-Aid demonstrate daily just how delusional they are. The fed penalties forthcoming will shrink this school to an online operation next year. For-profit "education" is moribund.
