the idea behind MOA taking over simplistic level 1 & 2 projects has been absurd. Having to oversee their design process has added even more work to a ridiculous to begin with process. Their design lacks soul, and even though upper mgmt promised that they would eventually "get it", they haven't.

PLM 70 million = a lot of livelihoods that did not have to be lost !!!
And the ass holes that pushed for it still sitting pretty on their assholes
I hope you ass holes are reading this !!!
As soon as I had to sit down in a mtg. to learn about People Leaving Mattel I knew it was a totally useless program. I knew within the first 5 minutes of the introduction. Why do I have to answer all these stupid questions again? Sure, if you manufacture dog food yr after year i get it. It's the same dog food. Mattel's product varies from year to year, it's called new...........even standard Barbie's need to be refreshed, it's not dog food, although upper mismanagement has now turned it into dog food. For all the waste of money & they STILL are paying Stockton millions of dollars to do absolutely nothing for a year. Hasbro doesn't have PLM, nor did they ever get called out on the lead quarantine like upper management said they would. Mattel got caught because there WAS lead in it's paint because Eckert had all the safety systems cost reduced out & our stupid so called CPI department didn't raise a red flag when it should have.
Correction....Oracle's PLM (product lifecycle mgmt.) was more like 70+ MILLION and it's decades if ever away from paying for its self, let alone benefiting the company. Launched 2 years ago + and it's still burdened with bugs. It (the incoherent & incompatible product data) almost caused MAJOR customers to walk. It was meant to benefit manufacturers that build similar product from year to year in their own plants. No worries for those responsible for pushing this on Mattel though, it was under B. Stockton's watch. So....no penalty....just make sure to deny any association. Yup.....70 MM+
MOA can be used correctly IF managed properly with the proper art direction & instruction. They are hard workers, at least the group I dealt with by putting in long hours and had a passion IF GUIDED correctly & REWARDED accordingly. What I witnessed there for years were lazy, worthless so called designers who gave our Orient brothers & sisters zero, little, or misguided information then just sat back and let those poor bastards try work it out. If they managed to get it right the useless ES designers would take the all credit. IF HK DIDN'T get it right they would be blamed/be the scape goat. Lisa Strom was great at this tactic. Blame anybody to save your own skin. I saw some type on the bottom of a product that I've had for years now. It's a thermos flask which works great & looks great. The bottom reads, "Designed in the US, manufactured in China". Design needs to stay in the US, but it as to be real Design, by real Designers, not design by talentless so called designers who speak in cliches or are great at doing the trained monkey dance at GHO's. Innovation?............. if there are even any talented designers still left in that building which of them even have the time or the motivation to be innovative after spending hours of uploading into that useless/non functional PLM, Des Dock, TRACS, MATPICS, & prepping for GHO's so WTF do you expect? BTW, upper/mid management don't actually upload into PLM so they have no clue how inept & stupid the software is & they could care less. A 50 million dollar bonfire while talented, hard working people are losing their jobs.
Goodman and the rest of Mattel management don't get it. MOA is a non-value added entity which only gets in the way. They have no creative nor technical ability. They pass on whatever they are told, manipulated by greedy vendors and add a lot of cost to the business. There is no ownership of design, no pride nor passion. Passion is what made Mattel great. The current management is destroying this one Barbie hair folicle at a time. Their cancerous management has spread to the people at Fisher-Price, American Girl and soon to MEGA.
Hey Goodman, your lack of an engineering degree is showing! Apparently kissing arse to get promoted beyond your ability does catch up with you. The bell tolls for thee!
Don't tell us, tell Goodman. He's the genius who promised MOA would deliver. He also promised PLM would save time & money. Two colossal fails. Why is his fat ass still collecting a paycheck? Just to keep paying for his bad Hair Club reroot job? Some of the hair rooters Mattel just let go could do a better job. Talk about failing upwards! Sinclair, time to clean house up top!
I knew we were in trouble in EA when they spent all of that money on the ridiculous core packaging redesign which lets be honest was a massive abortion. it was the start of the downward spiral but we were all forced to drink the kool aid and sing it's praises because of the millions invested in that crap. even after the focus groups came back as a resounding negative response the higher ups tried their darnedest to put a positive spin on it. those crappy icons, awful human interest photos. such a waste.
