I'm hearing more and more rumblings that there will be an announcement in the coming days/weeks regarding another round of layoffs. This is especially frustrating/angering considering the last few months every time Chip and Mark have talked to Denver groups they have harped on how we've reduced our costs and increased production. How any company can expect to inspire good company moral and dedication in the face of that is beyond me.

The comment below mentions "oil" and "stable" in the same sentence. Oxymoron much. It will never be stable. With more and more factors putting downward pressure on fossil fuels, this industry will always be a crap shoot. Buy the bottom, sell the top!
And the "rankings" of course will not be decided on who has the most knowledge or who does the the best work. In true Noble fashion rankings will based on who kissed ass the most. And of course no managers will be laid off despite running this company off the cliff. It's been posted on here before.... the sooner you leave this company the better. Move on with your life and career and get a better opportunity with a company that values your hard work. Noble thinks they are doing you favor by employing you. When all of this passes and the industry improves nobody will work for Noble. They have shown their true colors.
My source says they plan on "layering layoffs", meaning doing multiple rounds until oil stabilizes above $60. HR has a list that is ranked and the longer oil price stays down the more rounds the company plans on doing
The people who get the job done, operations, will take the hardest hit. Sad.
The sooner you are able to leave this company the better. You can move on with your life and career and get a better opportunity elsewhere. Noble Energy is headed to trash heap.
Around January of this year they sent out an email saying they would be downsizing and then let everyone sweat until April. Maybe the backlash from letting people dangle has them waiting to spring the news a little closer to the actual date of doom.
