I bet that if anyone at Google even suggested buying Weatherford, two things would happen. 1, they would be like, who is Weatherford? and 2, that person would be fired. Compared to Google, WFT is useless. I bet Google employees would refer to Weatherford as 'WTF Labs'
Google can develop employee-less oilfield services. That would solve all WFT's problems.

Who better than Weatheford to pilot a "driverless" technology? Maybe Google can give them some direction
Google have a driverless car. Obvious next step is to purchase a ruderless ship. All aboard the SS Weatherford. God help all who sail in her.
The technology that google has developed for the driverless car has huge potential for other applications in production platforms and drilling rigs and they need to develop the expertise further hence the interest in Weatherford.
