Someone commented on BD playing a fair game? Really? BD Leaders do what is best for BD Leaders, period. This plan of action is called smoke and mirrors, so I suggest waking up and smelling the coffee before it is too late. BD and HCL signed a contract, and I am sure there is money up front to HCL, so they can retain you for 12 months at your current salary, then guess what? Bye-Bye and no severance. Your severance is built into the contract for HCL to pay you for a year. So if you actually believe this is fair, then so be it. In all reality, you will be retained for 12 months then given your walking papers, or asked to take an enormous pay cut, with no matching 401k or pension plan, and I am sure a lot less paid time off. Another thing of note, if this was truly a fair deal, why is employment only guaranteed for 12 months? Have you ever been in a position where you started a job and they told you we guarantee 12 months of employment? If the game is fair, then why not just say you can have a job as long as your performance merits it? Because performance doesn't mean anything to your BD Leaders. Maybe BD needs to make a few more layers of management, because there should be 19 layers between the common workers and CIO.
