So now the vacation time is screwed with. Found out by accident. Anyone else care to comment on what Weatherford's done with our vacation time? Oh...and you will no longer be paid any accrued vacation time if you're layed off. Some one pass the K-Y.

They have done the same thing at our location. The management team here is absolutely ridiculous. There is no teamwork and there is no communication between shifts either. We seem to be sailing on a sinking ship. Favoritism runs rampant throughout this company. We have all been denied a merit raise this year as well while the office personnel recieve new cellular phones.
Just work the system my fellow coworkers schedule vacations on or thru company holidays thru employee connect then let them try and deny you after they have approved before hand then let them say they don't have no one to fill in for as we field hands have been hearing for years now then all you say is they already approved and a fill in is not your problem because they laid off all the needed fill in help then LOL because they don't deduct vacation on holidays or weekends
Yeah..I think it's pretty chicken-shit. They send out a pretty little email like they're doin us a favor, then bury the part about "oh yeah....but we get to keep it all when we get rid of you". Who does that????
This is like sharecropping. At the end of next year all unused vacation will be erased and you'll start at zero. You can "borrow" 40 hours against your annual vacation. So, the big W is hoping when you get let go that they'll owe you nothing on vacation, very little on whatever hours you have left, or that you'll owe them for having a negative balance that you "borrowed" against! Sounds like layoffs will be cheaper for the big W in the future.
Accrued Leave Payouts From the Texas Workforce
Unused paid leave is forfeited when an employee separates from employment. HOWEVER, employees who are laid off for economic reasons, or who resign with at least two weeks' advance written notice, will receive the balance of any unpaid leave remaining at the time of the work separation.
All nonsalary employees vacation time will be reduced by 12 hours. This is a cost saving measure deemed necessary by management.
They sent out global email yesterday afternoon with the new vacation policy
I used all mine thinking i was getting laid off anyway but our meeting was postponed till next week.
