Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Sharing my experience....

My story seems similar to others on here. I started at an amazing store where leadership was so supportive. I was promoted and moved to a store where their behavior was such a stark contrast to the leadership in my old store. When I questioned certain things about whole foods values etc the store team leader made a "joint smoking " pantomime and the other two ASTLs sneered at me as if I was insane implying that people who started the company were high. They all outwardly said that the core values are a bunch of bullshit written by hippies. This store was rules as if it was 8th grade. Constant behind the back talking. Drama between employees fueled by leadership. Favoritism. Nepotism. Sexual drama. Hook ups. Cheating. Adulterous lecherous behavior. One astl bragged openly how is brother in law was a regional vp so he could do whatever he wanted. It was like an old west movie where people could behave however they wanted with. I ramifications as long as you were part of the "cool club". They all loved to flaunt how they had known each other for years and no one and I mean no one did any work. If you did do work they overly criticized and nit picked to drown your drive and passion. My team leader would leave pallets of frozen product out for entire days and sometimes overnight. When I would ask her about it she got very defensive and would search high and low to find one mistake I made and send me long emails in broken English poorly spelled. Everyone and I mean everyone talked about everyone even store leadership to me. About each other. Even the tmss. I share this story hoping that Mackey or someone in upper management maybe really do care about their company and need to see how seriously broken the system is. The core values are a joke. It would have been easier to swallow if they didn't flaunt those in your face and in reality it's just another money making company who do not care about their team members except I this situation you have no one to turn to as a team member. Working here was the worst experience of my life I still feel sick to my stomach when I drive past there I will never set foot in a whole foods again.

From talking with my fellow team members your experience is quite common among all of us, so don't feel alone. We have all dealt with this evil for far too long.

This experience is so familiar to me, and after reading all of these other posts, it appears to be the quite common regarding Whole Foods.

Couldn't agree with this post more. The corporation is trash, plain and simple.

Typical whole foods response. 46 terrible infractions and someone dismisses the entire thing because they can't believe one thing that is in fact true. F*** off loser. Keep drinking the Kool Aid. R.A.

Or she wouldn't want to work it into the freezer so she would fill up a Uboat and hide it in the back. Don't know why this is so hard to believe

She would leave pallets of bread out. For sure 100% would. It was supposed to be kept frozen as letting it thaw compromised the shelf life. It happened all the time.

I took you seriously until I got to this part:

"My team leader would leave pallets of frozen product out for entire days and sometimes overnight."
