Can you summarize the joe gregory email for those of us that did not receive it- am on Rosebank
Re Captain EOR read the email from Joe Gregory last Monday.
What has been done on Captain EOR project specifically? Does it only impact expats or local staff as well? What is the % cut? Any info you can provide will be helpful
It has already impacted the Captain EOR project; Rosebank is next.
Of course Exxon doesn't care if Chevron HR and PGPA staff use its advertising mascot. They are laughing about it, I'm sure. It's a reminder of how inept Chevron management is. Ironically, LSU's mascot is Mike the Tiger. How many LSU engineers are being ROMed in Project Tiger? I have a suggestion, how about Project Slug?
Apparently over 25 companies and one golfer have Tiger trademarks of some fashion. The actual animal does not have its own trademark interestingly enough. Since Project Tiger is not something being marketed, I doubt Exxon really cares.
Tiger is a trademark protected name registered by ExxonMobil, i.e. "Put a Tiger in your Tank." For Chevron to use this for a ROM shows a lack of common sense. A tiger is of course, a major predator. Male tigers eat 25 pounds of meat daily. The name must be meant to induce fear into the staff that has survived previous ROMs. The leadership team must have had a few laughs with that.
We know that people on MCPs are screwed. The order of the BU ROMs ahead of the MCP ROM (Tiger) was to make sure people cut from capex during Tiger don't end up on opex in a BU or in a center. It will be the same process as the other ROMs but it's highly unlikely a project is going to select someone from another project over their current team. So, it'll basically be a reduction of our MCP team. Better hope your role isn't ending soon and that your manager likes you more than others on your team.
