Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

OFFICIALLY AN "EX-CON"

Well, the axe fell at Westlake this week and unfortunately, or fortunately, I was selected to go. Thanks to those who posted on this website what to expect, because I was prepared, and it was right on que. The "can you come to the conference room" phone call, the rote "thank you for all your service" speech from my manager, and then HR reviews all the paperwork, and you turn in your badge, company credit card, etc. Funny. ... As I was exiting the building, and taking my last walk through the lobby doors, I quickly realized something.... That the weight of worry that I had been carrying around for the past few weeks, had quickly fallen from my shoulders, and there was this incredible sense of relief. Best of luck to my Conoco friends, and to all of you who remain...and remember..... as dark as it all seems...Life does go on! Good luck to you all.

Not just this year. It is the good old boys. Will always be that way.

Same happened to me too. My next job was a promotion, and the weight never came back. Best thing that could have happened was making me leave so I could find that better greener pasture.

Same happened to me..... I agree with you. They are treating their employees like dogs this year, it is not a life.
