Thread regarding Noble Energy Inc. layoffs

Thank You Noble for the 6 month paid sabbatical

Thank you Noble for the paid vacation. After 6 months of your generosity I have a new job with a $50K uplift in base pay from what you were paying me and I don't have to listen to the GAP drivel ala Susan et al.

Another dry hole in West Africa followed by a dry hole in the Falkland's and the Rosetta acreage not in the sweet spots and you will die a death of 1000 cuts. With the NO Ventures group more interested in staying in 5 Star hotels than bringing REAL opportunities forwards it's no wonder their is in NOTHING in the portfolio.

Mr. Noble must be spinning in his grave seeing what Stover and his Hench men/women have done with his once proud, people orientated company. Karma is a bitch and has a long memory. Nothing personal, its just business

Not bitterness or BS, just people fed up with Noble BS. LOL comparing Noble to Apple, Google or Tesla. Those are REALLY breakthrough companies. They may have their own internal quirks but you can bet GAP isn't one of them. In fact you won't find their names on the GAP website. Wonder why that is? Kinda curious that all the big achievements in this company happened before GAP too. Alen, Aseng, East Med, even DJ. What came after? Thinking... thinking... hmmm... nothing. It's not the people in New Ventures or Business Development that are the problem, its the leadership. The GAP crap and its champions are killing this company. That really is too bad. No worries, "those that have talent and drive" have found "that the market is alive and well for their services" just as the original post pointed out. $50K is a nice uplift. Congratulations to him/her on two counts: a nice pay raise and finding some fresh air.

These statements are bitter, biased, and by all means bullshit. Sure Noble has it's fair share of issues and times are tough. I can't sit here and say that things are going well, but attacking people in New Ventures, or Business Development is just poor form. Noble's affinity for GAP is annoying but also status quo for a multi-billion dollar corporation. If you don't want bureaucracy, start your own company! Do you honesty think Apple or Google or even Tesla are not full of layered bullshit? I understand there are hurt feelings for jobs lost. I don't get to see some good close friends because of them. However those that have talent and drive found that the market is alive and well for their services. Don't discount your experiences! It helped or will help you find your next opportunity. Life is fair if you work hard.

I too got a nice chunk in my savings and a job that I totally enjoy going to now! You hear laughter here and people enjoy working together, what a difference. God is good and he opened a new door and I am glad he did! Karma has teeth as they say!

A common thread to many of these posts is that "There are better options out there". Other people have mentioned Noble being the K-Mart of the oil & gas industry. Glad you were able to find a "better option"!
