Anyone know the likelihood of getting laid off if you put in your EOI?

SAP was the start of our problems, how may employee can honestly say they know how to efficiently use SAP, not many from where I set. Can see this system in a refinery/gas plant setting but not in field operations where the cash register rings only when wells are on production. Remember when wells went down and repaired without P&S or Supply Chain getting involved, you could actually call a local vendor/contractor which provided good service, didn't have to worry about Master Service Agreements or SOW's, ask for a price and got the job done. The second problem is Operations Excellence, remember all those positions that were posted on Career Link when it was rolled out, that helped grow this company's payroll to where we are today, sadly the majority of the boxes were filled with warm bodies (incompetence) and what did COP gain with all those positions, bureaucracy along with meetings after meetings to plan meetings. Lastly there is our Safety Program, yes I'm talking about the sacred cow, pumping dollar after dollar into procedure after procedure along with policy after policy. How did we ever operate years ago, anyone who ever worked in this business should be dead. As long as humans are part of the system they will make mistakes and unfortunately those mistakes will cause accidents. This industry is high risk at times, Accept it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh give me a break! Yes, the EIO is a reflection of a person's financial stability, but is ALSO a reflection of peoples' view of the company. Many are not only sick of management, but they are also sick of the upcoming system changes such as SAP. What is new is not always what is better.

Putting in an EOI is more a reflection of where you are at financially, health insurance, years of service, so not necessarily an embarrassment for COP. I like my job, but the severance just too good to pass up at this stage in my life.

As I understand some experienced high performers (people that really did work) signed up for the EOI. Rather embarrassing to have experienced high performers sign up to be laid off. The EOI does help to empty the buildings but what remains is in question.
