Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

I am glad layoffs are over for me

I was let go today, the waiting was killing me. Aside from feeling a huge relief, I am numb

The situation 6 years ago when you were let go and today are not the same. With all the industry-wide downsizing, there won't be lot of hiring in the near future and things will be highly competitive.

Laid off 6 years ago at Cop after 20 with them. The best thing that ever happened to me both emotionally and financially. The severance paid for two cars and a nice down payment on my house. Plus I got an equivalent job 3 months later, so I got double pay for about 5 months. Thanks again COP. There really is life after COP, and a much better one at that.

The way layoffs are being handled by COP reflect the ELT values and ethics ... Shame on you !

There are quite a few of us still sitting and waiting for the assigned minions to come and tell us that we are being terminated. I realize there are a lot of people to be 'processed' but this was not the way to do it.

@Anonymous173461 - Agreed! There is life after COP. Was laid off in Calgary today.

Good luck to you. I was let go yesterday. This was my third time (and last) to be employed by the company and have to say this was the worst layoff I had been through. BUT there is life after COP and actually a good life.

I feel numb too even though I haven't been left go yet, this has been going on for a bit too long, IMHO
