Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

I want to echo something said by an earlier poster, "Be kind to yourself". Until you get laid off, you don't know how you are going to respond.

I was ready to leave too, and there were a lot of "happy dancing" days. There were also some days of not wanting to get out of bed. I was surprised at the range of emotions I went through. One website said people go through the same steps oh grieving as if there were a death in the family. It's a shock to have such a big part of your life suddenly gone. Again, be "kind to yourself".

I EOI'd and am hoping to be selected...but after 30 years it will be a big shift. Just starting to think of some of the perks (besides pay) that will change - like the company discounts on cell phone, car rental, etc. A whole new adventure.
