SM used to have a headcount of ~31500. Now ph displays less than 27000. Did we really have 4000 interns or has HR perfected the vanisher? Nobody RIFed is gone off yet, are they?

i don't recall seeing 31000+ anytime recently. Only yahoo finance showed that figure.
Lots of phony PIPs starting in January 2015. Many employees got bounced from Qualcomm under the radar and away from public and media scrutiny. Yes it could be a violation of EDD WARN notice.

@ 172055: Check to see if people who have been laid off are listed. If not, that may be the answer. If they are still in there, what was the timeline between the last time you saw the 31,500 number and the appearance of the 27,000 number? If they PIP'd more than a certain number of people it may count as a violation of WARN/Cal-WARN.
