Apparently we are all colleagues (until now) and if we get to meet in person things will be different... but there are so many hatred comments in group.... be respectful people... posting anonymously doesnt mean you have to unleash the devil inside you....

What's the matter HR? Oil company rejected your job application despite your excellent 2.5 GPA in Transgender Studies? Still serving tables at La Hacienda to successful devil toads? Jealous much? Just let it out, although a simple thank you every time you fill up your Prius would suffice.
Anyone working in oil and gas is a devil. Feel warm in your cube? That's because you're a greedy pos. Go get a respectable career and represent human beings , not devil -toads farting on a log.
Good example Anonymous 171672. I know Supply Chain lost a very highly rated talent recently by forcing the individual to move to a role that was arguably a demotion. Numerous people attempted to retract the decision to no avail and the individual left a few weeks later.
Good feedback from the last post. As an example, one new hire with a degree in marketing from a very desirable school for marketing was rotated to an information technology role. He was very bright and did a very good job but relentlessly reminded management the education and the passion was for marketing and not information technology. After three years of rotations through information technology roles he was no closer to a marketing role and no closer to a career in marketing due to the three years of experience in information technology and not in marketing. The dissatisfaction with the information technology role resulted in bad reviews despite stellar performance and so no options to move to another role outside of information technology. A train wreck in the making from day one one the job. I feel for the staff now obligated to move into roles that are not good fit roles.
Its not just the layoffs that are causing the poor and negative atmosphere, its the horrendous decisions being made. Not only does the company layoff good people, they then shove those that are left into roles with are not suitable for the individual. The company is not developing its talent properly.
Hate to one person is tough love to another. Just depends on which side of the shouting mouth you are on.
The is so much hatred on the forum due to comments from the old old employees hiring new young employees and expecting the new young employees to act like the old old employees. Imagine that, a new young employee distracted by technology. For clarification, that is a cell phone, a headset and a laptop sitting at your desk; and the old old employee is still trying to figure out how to turn on the new technology.
LOL. No.
F u 2. Better?
That was real mature.
F. U.
Work ethics in general are just different. Here's an example. A few years ago I attended a time management class. Seated in the back, I was positioned where I could easily see everyone on the class. I was encouraged to see so many bright-eyed, newly hired college hires. The instructor started the class with an ice breaker intended to encourage group participation. He asked everyone to identify his/her #1 distractor in his/her workday. I expected to hear things like this. . . too many meetings, too many emails, lack of clearly defined work responsibilities, insufficient training, insufficient direction, insufficient leadership, lack of qualified mentorship. Instead, I was shocked to hear the following distractor repeated "MULTIPLE" times . . . FACEBOOK!!! My opinion of the new hires dropped significantly. I would NEVER expected this response. In my opinion, employees should not be in Facebook during the workday. 😁
Over a year ago I told Diane Beatty that a process should be put in place which would allow experienced staff to train and mentor new hires as the company transitioned to a younger workforce and older staff transitioned to retirement. Instead, critical projects with strict deadlines were given to older, more experienced staff in an effort to eliminate such projects before the older, more experienced staff retired and the younger workforce became responsible for the day to day responsibilities for Upstream Finance.
I have to agree. After 35 years of strong, productive, respectful employment . . . It has all come down to this. If COP had actually wanted a good chunk of employees to retire early "for the good of the company," all they had to do was offer the enhanced severance and ask. Retirement with dignity is all that any of us wanted. Not only has that not happened, we have been treated like criminals and lumped in with laid-off poor performers. I have no respect for supervision, management, and total lack of leadership in COP now.
That is what being treated like crap with no respect does to people..Duhhhhhhhh!!!!
Strongly agree with you "Rig 'N Down"... experienced and good performers are being let go and replaced by incompetent cheap ass kissers & c**k suckers...
Not to mention the way HR are handling the process...they treat you like a criminal.... some SPIRIT Values displayed by HR & COP Managers...
Another reason is that the Ethics Hotline is phony and frustrated employees need an outlet. Misery does love complany.
After many years of respect and recognition for my accomplishments in the oil industry, it all came to an ugly end due to a young, stupid, ass kisser of a supervisor at COP and those who covered for him. The culture at COP has generated a lot of hatred and ill feelings. It's just all out in the open now.
Wait until after next week and 15% of the workforce are walked out the door.
