Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Seriously? A.I. Barbie is a spy for Mattel? New level of creepiness folks.

from seeking alpha article: "In the meanwhile, Mattel is largely relying on "Hello Barbie" that can interact with kids using voice recognition and artificial intelligence. The Hello Barbie will hit the shelves in November this year in a bid to refuel Barbie for a longer journey. Although this innovative Barbie will be an important milestone for the company, the success remains uncertain due to privacy concerns as Mattel will have access to all the conversation. This now has become the wait and see situation because there are a lot of critics as well as supports of Hello Barbie."

Parent are not happy about their kids conversations being stored in the cloud for mattels use. Nevermind the $75 price point for a doll that they're going to have to monitor. This is a massive fail. I want a toy my kids can play with and give me some peace and quiet. This DOES NOT the bill.
