Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

I'm staying...

I am a bakery buyer that was chopped. I am staying. As soon as I read my first option was to leave I immediately said, "That's not happening." My team has been struggling. I care too much about the TM to leave them during the holidays. I'm very lucky to have leadership that actually cares about me and the others that have been affected. Not sure what others are being offered but I have options thankfully. I feel bad for all of those affected. We are hard working...put lots of time and energy to embrace the core values...those same values are being reflected at this time. I hope the stopping point is near.

I'm sorry, i'm sure youre a really awesome nice person but SAVE YOURSELF. bakery buyers have been cut for a long time in my region and things got real ugly.

go to a company that will respect you and treat you well.

I think y'all have drunk the WF Koolaid..my daughter worked for them five years and is taking the severance and running after seeing the carnage done to her coworkers ..y'all are rats on a sinking ship that doesn't give a sh*t if you can pay your bills or not. Take a pay cut, work more, more hours with less experienced staff and the public still pays a premium for the product? not in my world.

Well aren't you a trooper. You stayed? Because of the holidays? Have fun when they start asking you to CONTINUE doing the buying....without the title or the pay. What options did you have that other bakery/juice/smoothie/coffee buyers did not? My leaderships loves me too and the best they could offer was to step down to supervisor, for less pay AND a 1 yr wait for a dialog/raise. I was lucky to get that offer. I did not take it. This is no longer about WFM tm happiness. Now get ready for the piling on of extra work for no extra pay or in your case, since you decided to stay, lower pay. Would your cherished tm's do that for you if the tables were turned? Even if you get a gold star and let's say move up to ATL quickly.......how long before that job is cut? I believe your heart is right place........just not the right company.

You're lucky to be in that position -- and they are lucky to have you. It's a choice. Those of us left still work with the same people who were awesome and amazing a week ago. That doesn't change. Best of luck for a smooth transition during these tough days!

Follow them off the cliff like a lemming, that is your choice. Whole Foods doesn't care about people like they used to
