Thread regarding Caterpillar Inc. layoffs

Any idea if Singapore Reman plant would be affected?

I'd appreciate any comments on Singapore Reman plant layoffs at Caterpillar. Rumors are flying around and there is a lot of anxiety that is floating around. I know that nobody has 100% perfect layoff information, that's always guarded very much, but at the same time, I'd like to see if we can shed some light on layoff plans at Caterpillar here, especially in lights of layoffs for 2015 and the upcoming reorg plans for 2016.

"Lets hope that there will be layoffs in Singapore and that they will stop taking jobs from the people who made Cat what it used to be. What it is now is a result of the destruction of one of the greatest corporations in the world. I would like to see a huge accident of some type, that would take out Doug Oberhelman and his staff. I think that the remaining leadership maybe at the point of such disgust, that they may try to save the original home base where it was all built (Peoria)." - - seriously??? you are disgusted with CAT makes sense. But who said people are taking jobs from peoria? if you want to sell your ST in Asia, you better build it in Asia and by the Asian people. We are equally disgusted with the "American Corporate Culture" Bull Sh

Lets hope that there will be layoffs in Singapore and that they will stop taking jobs from the people who made Cat what it used to be. What it is now is a result of the destruction of one of the greatest corporations in the world. The corporate leaders at Cat for the last 30 years have sold out the employees and the families of employees who worked to build Cat to a world leader. It is now a world joke, I retired a few years ago with a 40 year pin and I would like to see a huge accident of some type, that would take out Doug Oberhelman and his staff. I think that the remaining leadership maybe at the point of such disgust, that they may try to save the original home base where it was all built (Peoria). I had the opportunity to work with many people from around the world, if I were doing the hiring and firing at Cat, most of you would be gone. I hope this comment shows you the disgust that we here in Peoria Illinois have for the Caterpillar of today..
