Does anyone know what, if any, help Conoco can/must provide in finding a new job after severance?

That would cost money. Our shareholders need that money. So No.

KEYBOARD IDIOT........
The question is valid. The oil and gas companies in Bartlesville are historical paternal in nature. (not my description). The talent management process is one example. The proactive employee is at a disadvantage. Varies based on endless factors but as a rule of thumb expect 2-6 months of time between jobs, expect 100-1000 applications, expect to move to a different job market, expect to move without relocation and expect the job market in states with a focus on oil and gas to continue to weaken. Use the resources provided including the placement services immediately! And I repeat, immediately. If you must put some space between one job and the other focus on the job search for one month prior to a week of me time.

"Must" provide?
AMF was my experience
In the USA, ConocoPhillips offers a placement service, Lee Hecht Harrison. The service is an expensive service with value. Ideally the severance and unemployment will suffice financially until you find another job. The focus on all service is networking but the industry as a whole is in involved in staff reductions and so networking is of less value. The situation varies based on county so do consider the options in the country.
They dont have to provide anything. Sometimes they do offer placement services which is a company that can help with resumes etc.
