Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Adjust pricing and have a plan

The more i think about it the more angry i get. I worked with my team for over 10 yrs. some of them get a huge pay cut. We all understand why this happened and that labor does have to be realistic. You cant have a team with 5 supervisors. We should have had rules in place before it got here. Someone should have told some tls that just bc a tm works at wf for yrs and is maxed out, not to just make up a position in order to pay them more money (if maxed out).

But now that shit hit the fan, we hopefully have a new strategy in place. I'm hoping that Our coordinators a looking into better deals, lowering prices, maybe even lowering margin targets in order for sales to pick up again. The worst thing that can happen now is, that team members and customers are starting to boycott the stores. Lowervsales = less labor to guarantee ft hours.

Personally I believe that this whole f*** up happened through upper leadership. Not store leadership. I'm talking about Our coordinators. Those are the ones that are supposed to be dealing with better costs on products, good sale items, getting good deals in place. But what do they do? Raising prices to make up for poor margins, autoshipping you shit that doesnt sell, half-assing hwds etc.

Store openings shouldnt be done by coordinators and tls and astls only. What a waste of money in all directions! Or, as fast as wf opens stores we should just hire a crew from outside to do this under supervision.m

Get out, it's only going to get worse. The corporation will never backpedal and admit they've made a mistake. The wheels are in motion.

hopefully coordinators will read this and start working just as hard as we do. Overall they are the most disconnected from us. Whrn was the last time ur coordinator responded back to an email of urs? When was the last time u saw an updated POG to reset sets? When was the last time they took care of cost issues? When did they start brainstorming ideas with u when u told them u have a seasoned team and labor is tight? What the f*** are threy coordinating? Wf decision making is going backwards. They need to stop looking at vendors who give them the most rebates for shit products nobody buys and ask for deals on staple items that draws the customer in! Guh! Inwant to shake them back to reality!

I currently work at the flagship store in Austin and the department I work in has 27 supervisors!!! Yes, you read that right...27! That number includes all from the lowliest supervisors, sous chefs, atl's and TL. I've dedicated over 10 yrs with that company as well and never, NEVER have I seen such a ridiculous amount of supervisors who don't know what the hell they're doing, get all the overtime and cut ours back. They have run that place into the ground! And now the hard working and dedicated tm's are in danger of losing their jobs!
