NOT the 1.6% extrapolation of 1500 losing jobs. The 'press release' stated that after the layoffs, there are 2000 current jobs plus 100 new stores opening. They came up with 1500 final estimate after the 2000 are filled and 100 stores staffed -- sounds more like 5500 - 6000 layoffs in reality. Spin it!

I lost count today. Marketing, pbs, and ATLs today . Who knows what tomorrow will bring. Apparently I'm safe for now~ when I'm not there we lose thousands and my customers will literally turn around and walk out the door empty handed if I'm not there to help them.
There are so many ways this could've been avoided and quite a few people who work hard who were let go while others who skate by are allowed to stay. Plus why would you let go of marketing? They are our connection to new potential customers since other than a few commercials this year we do no traditional advertising. We as tms are a large reason why customers shop our stores. Honestly those who are not store level and out in the trenches should've been cut first.

Not to include the 6-8 TMs that got their positions/titles taken away. Our store was dead silent. Even our Guest we speaking on how thin our store was staffed today. Our company morale is at an all time low in the middle of our Global "Love Fest" theme.... atleast 15 TMS at our location and we have at least 500 stores, not adding up to 1,500 TMs in cuts.

We only lost 1. MW here. Only about 10 jobs lost in the whole state.
We laid off 7 people, at my store, so far today (entire marketing team (4), 1 bakery, 2 specialty).
with the hubris WFM management has demonstrated, they probably vastly overestimated the amount of TMs who would want to stick it out in new positions (or try for same position in new stores) and will end up bankrupting the company due to all the severance pay.
We booted over 15+ today. Horrible
