Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

NE Region

Hey guys just wanted to share what's been going on in the north east region. Even though this region has a smaller amount of stores, I believe we are roughly top 2 in store sales throughout the company. Alot of the city, westchester and long island stores usually pull a million dollars a week.

All demo specialists, store trainers, healthy eating specialists have been cut. Buyers have been cut on a lot of teams and I've heard will be cut on all teams except grocery. They will make the atls do the buying in addition to their large workload.

We had a store meeting today and no one even talked about it. A head vp from the region came in today to talk to all the team leaders as well. I can't even imagine what he told them to say.

Do you think they will rehire laid off folks who were high paid hourly?

Did the long island stores get hit with lay offs?

2 ATLs for 200k a week is excessive. 1 TL, 1 ATL, 1 supervisor is more than enough for that volume. Use labor to hire part timers

Other than Demo and HES, Marketing is safe for now. Who knows for how long though.

Atl are being cut based on team weekly sales, your team needs to make more than 100 to afford 2 atls. Some of the city stores have 4 atls for large teams like produce or grocery
