Jobs lost: marketing TL, demo specialist and assistant, floral specialist, healthy eating specialist, grocery buyers, any additional store artists other that main, front runners
Essentially they think that grocery buyers buy for 2-3 hours then stock shelves for the rest of their shift. They see 2ish buyers doing the same job for their entire 40 hour week and the rest of the team consisting of stockers = 2@$14-$18 instead of 4@$14-$18, everyone else gets $13, saving a little money. They also want the teams to reabsorb positions like demo and marketing; teams do their own theater/demos and hello "social media team." We were told that more things will be left to the warehouses, commissary kitchens, and bakehouses i.e. chicken will come already packaged instead of in bulk while the meat team packs, soft openings for meat and seafood - they come in when the store opens and set up with customers - eliminating shifts. There will be a gainsharing restructure that I was told would be more production based and less sales based - no idea what that looks like, but it's the info I was given. Labor budgets are being cut, but the ones I know about were small %s that TLs and ATLs are pretty used seeing. Those holding those positions that are being eliminated are being given the options most are talking about on here - severance package, applying for another company position, or clean break. I am in no way worried for my job tomorrow, my TLs and STL gave us all the info they had, they were/are just as concerned as the TMs are. This is sh*ty guys but it steams from much much higher then them. I hope most start to handle it better once they process. Good luck and I hope this helps.
