@Anonymous161691: I guess you weren't from the Atheros side. Craig Barratt and Jack Lazar (CEO and CFO) made it very clear that the same rules applied to everyone. When Atheros had a conference/meeting in Hawaii, everyone had to fly coach and share hotel rooms, and there were no special exceptions made for C-level executives. Craig and Jack flew coach and shared rooms too. Jack would do presentations at all hands meetings about how expenses affect EPS, and how EPS affects share price, and Atheros, unlike Qualcomm, actually gave employees enough RSU for them to care about the share price. Furthermore, Jack was also looking for ways to "lose" expenses, and had a thing called the "Biggest Loser" award at every all hands, where someone who figured out how to lose large amounts of expenses was honored. They created a culture where people focused on how to keep expenses down by keeping expenses down themselves. Here we see how when people lead BY EXAMPLE, employees don't have a problem doing what the executives ask. I think IJ understood this too. The problem with PJ and S&M is that they aren't founders. PJ in particular is a 2nd generation wealthy person, spoiled and doesn't understand what it's like to be a regular worker, and doesn't understand what it looks like when he asks employees to reduce expenses yet flies around in corporate jets. S&M has simply continued the same trend and doesn't have the balls to change anything.
Heavenly father we beseech you to bring upon the Q, a new generation of monopoly money & to calm the investor fears of less than excellent returns on their investments & to reinflate the growth such that we may all enjoy the fruits of our labors as expressed in fresh RSU distributions and delightful bonus pools.
