It will be difficult to prove age discrimination by Becton Dickinson and in conjunction with layoffs. Also, you will be asked to sign paper to agree not to sue if you want your severance package. The best thing to do is finding a job before you need to train the foreigner to replace your American job, it will be a humiliating task. Nobody should go through that for the little money BD will pay you.

hard in some states to prove.... I'm sure the package specifically mentions those sorts of laws ... but it's what is happening in the US.... cheap overseas labor, replacing US labor... the older you are at BD (term of service) the higher your salary over time... so that is what they seem to be targeting - not your job, or your performance, rather, how much money you make.
