I heard someone said SASBU may not join Sept.'s ROM. Because SASBU's process is delayed so they cant't catch up ROM in Sept. is that true?

There are around 30 of us in Houston that are SASBU, that have been selected for the Sept and Oct ROM. We are "must-move" from projects that are being finished, or shelved. CRX2 and Lianzi. Should be interesting...
People in SASBU started hearing they were going to the upcoming ROM last week. They seem to have reached a consensus just in the nick of time. And the people going into the ROM are not all ex-pats, it seems like most of the ex-pats are staying put for now.
Do you really think Chevron can restructure for optimization? These are layoffs that Chevron can not do because management is so far removed from the work. So you bring in a bunch of 20 something Harvard MBA Indians to f*** it up worse. ROM=Layoff as Shit=Turd.
That's not a ROM. That's a layoff. You're not optimizing your resources if you limit the job pool to SASBU alone in the restructure.
"Hopefully they realize that you can't quite replace one rotational position of someone working 12hr/d 7d/wk with one 5/2... but I'm not holding my breath."
No, they don't realize this. Realizing this would destroy their entire cost saving model because the assumption was each rotational position staffed by two rotators would become one resident position. No one at BCG has rotated before so thy wouldn't realize this and management didn't question it because then they wouldn't get the cost reduction target they need without having to make a more complex decision.
Don't expect any real news about the "new and improved" SASBU until 4Q. The only people in the September ROM are expat must-moves.
I don't think they can do a true ROM within the BU - they're trying to move everyone they can to Luanda and there will be tons of visa issues, not to mention people who just won't go, and there's the whole "Angolanization" process which means they have to have at least the same percentage of Angolans (or more), regardless of how many jobs get cut or how many nationals actually have the ability to do the work. Hopefully they realize that you can't quite replace one rotational position of someone working 12hr/d 7d/wk with one 5/2... but I'm not holding my breath.
