If the head of all of HR for Mattel was let go, who in HR is next? One can only dream... Think of all the promotions and "moves" instead of firings - HR to blame on all of these. Head of girls marketing can't cut if after three years? Why not take over Corporate Communicatikns, a job she knows nothing about. Until you fix HR with quality people, Mattel and FP will never get better. Who enabled a marketing guy become VP of Wheels? HR. Who approved SL's various promotions? HR.

Same structure just different people.

How is anything really going to change.

The richest rats are abandoning ship, looting the company as they leave.

I heard they were escalating the exits because people are focusing on rumors and innuendo, which further depresses moral and undermines productivity, creativity, etc. Keeping employees motivated and morale high is much more challenging, especially now that Mattel is in the midst of reform, restructure and general uncertainty. They need to just get on with the retirements, new opportunity pursuits, layoffs, etc. and BE DONE! Then we can really focus on the future and back to world class status and great toys!
