Thread regarding Western Digital Corp. layoffs

Typical Coporation

This is nothing new. Changing crap around - again. Reorg, outsourcing and/or making themselves look good for stockholders so they can crank up the profits for the CEO's. They need more profits - never enough, but our job stability suffers.

Ummm not typical for WD. In the past WD had leaders. CEO's that we were emotional about - liked, hated, feared, believed in. With the merger, we lost this. First they offered the VSP which many key people took - so we lost management coherence. Branded devastated. Money was there for strategic partnerships and acquisitions but was wasted on companies with ties to the key decision makers. WD still has good people but this merger thing is killing it. After the merger, WD can just go away and who cares? Financials will only look better. Look at how HGST is growing and WD is not. Who bought who??

Dear Board of Directors: hire some evangelistic passionate leaders that are in everyone's face and take point.

Stockholders: question the BOD. Why is your stock down 30%? What product strategy will grow the company?
