I am a woman and not 058. I don't believe what men tell me. Or women either. Especially if EDMC or an affiliate signs their paycheck. I believe this board. I believe the end is very very near for me at my campus. I believe I will be sad if I'm expected to show up on Monday. I believe I have a 2nd interview lined up next week. I believe I am on a sinking ship named SS EDMC and am still lounging on a deck chair listening to the violin quartet. I believe in bagels and flavored cream cheese. I believe I will buy some for breakfast tomorrow before I stroll in leisurely to work.

In regard to 114058. This has got to be some kind of variation on the "Stockholm Syndrome." Otherwise how could rational minds believe these scroundrels could ever have their best interests in mind. Don't let desperation interfere with reality. Keep your eyes open and only believe in the metrics.

@114058 Are you a woman? I know this will sound sexist but the reason I say that is because I have noticed that most women want to and will believe anything a man says no matter how much of a lie it is, and be just as skeptical if another woman says the same thing. How can you honesty read the news, come to this site, see the lay-offs, stock drop, company taken over by creditors, billion dollar lawsuits going and and say "I feel better because Jim (a man) had a positive attitude." No guy would ever come to that conclusion.

Good News! The gainful employment law will take 2 years before they start to look for results. That means, by the time they come around to check our books, we will be out of business! WhooHoo! Were off the hook!

Thinks are great at BMC so the meetings can't be that bad. Our CP in Akron told us that we are getting 11 new programs! That has to mean BMC is doing a great job and worth investing in. Life is so good now (if you live life believing anything an incompetent who has seen enrollment drop by nearly 50% since who took over says).

For starters Jim Hobby will answer any question that is asked in the questions portion of the meeting. People were asking about how gainful employment will impact the company and it sounds like they actually have a good plan on place for dealing with it. There's a two year time frame that schools get to into compliance with the new rules. He was also talking about how 2015 was actually the first time the company had made a profit in a few years. Maybe it's just that his positive attitude is catchy but I left feeling not so bad.

All company meeting next week huh? Well, seeing as they lost the lawsuit against the hedge fund in Connecticut and have to cough up $14 million for that and last time I checked the stock was at 8¢ a share I'm sure it's good news. Yes,and the fact Brett Segar announced big plans to outsource technical support to other small schools and of course that was 6 months ago and nothing has materialized it makes one wonder. Are they just holding a carrot in front of us so we may join them in their final demise? I wonder what kind of BS they are going to sling at this upcoming meeting. Seems to me they have run out of paths of clover that lead to the guillotine and will finally fess up this time. Wish I could be there for a good chuckle.

I'm not 971 but bagels and flavored cream cheese would be a start. I just can't take meetings seriously.

  1. Please tell us what makes you feel somewhat comfortable or should the word be mollified.

All Company meetings used to happen quarterly. Not so much any more. Sounds like smoke and mirrors before another big move.

The center in Phoenix had the all employees meetings today. Jim Hobby gives a presentation on the end of the fiscal year 2015 and the start of 2016. Actually had me feeling decent instead of anxious, but I'd hate to get too comfortable.

Thanks to a brilliant management team, Ai have been saved! Our stock is up to 20.00 a share, all the lawsuits have been dropped and we have talented students lining up at our doors begging from one of our illustrious degrees! All employees will get a 20% raise and all naysayers will have been proven wrong. Oh, and Unicorns fart glitter.

Either that or it's a sweatshop and workers are chained to their dialup computers. One light bulb hangs from the ceiling. I imagine a fire burning in a can in the corner to provide heat during the harsh winter.

None of us know. They never told us. We don't care. It's where we are supposed to get transcripts reviewed and who knows what else. I think it's a castle that sits on a puffy pink cloud and people ride winged unicorns to get there.
