Hey Jerry Scoggins

Take it easy on Michelob Mitch of Manufacturing Finance. Public knowledge had him getting arrested for DWI in Mt. Laurel, NJ in January 2014. Google police report if you want to see public trouble makers.

@Anonymous114809 , did you come back from the future to tell us about your layoff in late 2015?

I was laid off in late 2015 and was very happy about it... at least they did not force me out under some HR-contrived scheme.

@114258, you are correct but I'd move that date up to about 1 Dec 2015 and then it wont be a question of closing the doors, but how many people will be shown the door.

If they close MFG doors that means 130 more employees gone. Add to that around 30 engineers charge most of their day to sustaining engineering/factory follow through. If they weren't doing that then they would have no shop order to charge.

The only reason the doors are still open are those black box orders that they keep getting.

As for thier quest to be an system integrator, I want to be a Pro golfer but it ain't going to happen. What big system integration jobs have they successfully executed on where and the customer is dieing to give CSE more work? From an engineering perspective who is left that has either worked on a big systems integration job could do the work. Form a competition perspective why wouldn't the customer go right up the road to LMCO where they actually do systems integration?

CSE hired many of its existing engineers in the early to mid 80's and then again in the mid 00's. That means they are paying big $$ for principal engineers to sit and wait for the next job. Many of those guys only care about hanging in a little longer so they can retire. On the other hand they have a lot of mid level engineers that have never done system integration.

Its not a question of if but when.

@Anonymous114258 , isn't that what they want...to stop being a box house and become an uber systems integrator? Plus, they've rented out most of the space in OPS anyway. I could see them leaving it open just for as long as the IDIQ contracts on our current products require it, then closing the doors.

  1. Just north of 700. (In 2005 there was 1250)

  2. Depends who you ask but word is that if no significant contract wins come in by q1 of 2016 there is questions about viability of keeping facility open. Hard to justify expensive mfg facility that is no longer producing PWB's.

  1. Let's see, there's me, Luigi, Guy Fawkes, and the head dude. What is that, six?

  2. Layoffs? Well, let's see, there's me, Luigi, Guy Fawkes, but not the head dude.

Happy to be of service.
