Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Homer City Maintenance / Repair Shop Closed

The Homer City, Pennsylvania / Northeast Area's Maintenance / Repair Shop closed it's doors today.

The remaining mechanics all received their severance packets before noon. ( ZERO mechanics accepted the relocation package to Zanesville, OH )

We maintained equipment for numerous frac crews, cement crews and an acid plant for nearly 40 years.

A huge blow to the local community which is still recovering from thousands of UMWA coal mining jobs lost over the past 2 decades.

It's been real fellas !!!

Take care !!

I heard about this website at the local barber shop. Live in the Homer City area. Drove by the shop this evening. WOW !!! It really is closed down........... Hundreds of red trucks used to be parked there, convoys of Halliburton trucks running up and down the highway all the time around here for as long as I can remember. They just hit a Utica Shale well not far from here in Armstrong County that puts out 72 million cu ft per day compared to local Marcellus well that puts out 8 million. It was in the Pittsburgh Press today. I hope Halliburton knows what the heck they are doing. From what people are saying on here, only the top level officers that hold all the stock will come out on top from all these changes. What a shame............... Little guy take it up the behind again.............................

hey 135270, you're right. those were a bunch of jerk offs in homer, they couldn't help it, most of them had a severe case of the "red ass".

What are you talking about 134640 half of the stuff leaving homer needed rework, wasn't done, or took forever to get back. That local garage did half there work for them

Passed the Homer City Mechanic facility this morning, it's bare. I worked there before they moved across the road into the new building, those guys fixed anything and everything. I wish them all the best of luck. Hundreds of years of combined experience. What a waste for Big Red.................

C J Energy extended an open offer to all the HC mechanics. No questions asked.

Wow, those mechanics were "Top Notch", what a shame.

Nearly all the crews sent their equipment to Homer City rather than Montgomery or Carmichaels, because they knew it would be repaired right the first time.

As a former field supervisor I can attest to the fact that lots of talented guys just walked.

What a loss to Halliburton................ They won't be out of work long.

Whoever lands these guys will be the lucky employer.............................
