Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Rumors are running rampant in NYC as well

Rumors are running rampant in NYC as well. Everyone is really tense here this morning. Not cool and the higher ups have been roaming into each others offices, which is amazing that some of them have any mobility at all. My hard work + long work hours / poor management decisions = poor morale and my livelihood in jeopardy with the people in charge having no worries. BTW another article on seeking alpha talking about Lego's dominance & mega trying to make a stand. Pathetic.

Here's the problem: both layoffs did NOT root out the problem. Everyone let go (with the exception of a couple of administrative old ladies) were the more passionate seasoned workers who busted their asses and bled mattel for years to make us profitable. Just last week we lost another top notch designer and a great structural engineer. Right now fo NYC is just a paycheck for us until we find something better. Sad because I miss my friends that were cut, and angry because I can't think of one who's deserved it.

It's amazing because instead of being held accountable for his actions the design vp in NYC just points the finger at an underling, puts them on the pip, and drags it out until either a layoff (to which they're at the top of the list to go) or he can find a fireable offense. Truly a slimy POS who gets away with murder because of his buddy status with the bloated failure who couldn't handle NY the first time around, was a MEGA failure in her home country, and is back doing the same crap job since the first time she left us. Bad licensing decisions and clueless at how to make us successful, but then 9% up is a win for her regardless of how pathetically low it is for NYC so we'll have to endure her overbearing bs for now, eh?

Btw, the rumor that the vp is banging a twink in the office? It's all but confirmed at this point.

Design VP in NY office is a mirage! No value add whatsoever! Could have been fired so many times due to his inappropriate behavior. He is a joke!

They made some serious mistakes pushing out some very passionate hard working people over the past two years. They should get on bended knee and try to get some of those folks dismissed as excess to come back. Obviously the place isn't better without them.

Who should go? That's easy : all the do-nothing VPs that enjoy the perks but none of the hard work. If they tried at least coming up with a winning strategy or hell - any strategy, that would give employees hope that some kind of long term plan was in place. Sadly this is not the case. So, Who should be shown the door? Well for starters the spinmaster do nothing, pornstache, the cheapskate in engineering & all of the inefficient directors who take the credit for all the hard working blokes. Let's cut the head off this snake and start new again.

Who do you think in EA & NYC from the top down should be cut? Curious.
