"Management at Mattel are not rookies, and Barbie has been top dog for the better part of 50 years. One challenging year of results is not a reason to panic. I'm continuing to buy more shares, and continue to recommend the same to you."

This guy is a paid off shill if ever there was one.

What a bunch of bull - "I'm continuing to buy more shares" - who in their right mind would do this? The company will fold just like Radio Shack folded - they have been around for a thousand years, then a shift happened and the driver was asleep at the wheel

Oh... and by the way not just one bad year, more like a 6 years of decline. Mattel moved from the top of the best 100 companies to work for... too one of the worst.

The writing has been on the wall and we employees in the trenches saw it coming.

Barbie can not fix this mess :(

My guess is Dividends are King...keep stock holders holding there stock short term or for as long as possible. Putting money into R&D - Design and keeping good talent and employee benefits in tact are low priority.

This company is on the ropes. I suspect the guys at the top are freaked out and focused on survival & short term gains, holding on for as long as possible and praying for a miraculous turn around, the how is vague and possibly too late, but we can hope !
