Just google the date, something big is going down. Just think, if it all ends, no more enrolling mentally challenged people up for a worthless degree. You'll finally be free.

@038 - finally there's someone with a brain. You are right, ALL colleges are in it for the money. People would be stupid to think otherwise. I do agree that UOP can get better at selecting good students who have a solid shot at graduation. However, training or helping someone become college material is costly and would require some pre-course material to help them get there. unfortunately, someone has to eat that cost if the students cannot afford themselves.
I mean seriously, all colleges, even state-funded ones are in it for the $$. Surely you can't believe Phoenix is the only one. And paid lobbyists are behind a lot of it. Administration made it clear in 2008 no funds should go to for profit. Anything not government controlled is bad, according to this administration and god forbid any business should make a profit
Blah Blah Blah, blah blah blah
I apologize. I meant 344. These apologists for screwing folks over is annoying at best. There are many good people out ther that deserve better than this scheme to defraud, that's for sure.
Anonymous127119 - Say what? I think you meant someone else. I'm sick of seeing the whole predatory and self serving framework from top to bottom and every tax paying American should be agreeing with me.
- Your a "pile-on" the ass of truth. Keep cashing those checks before they bounce.
I see no one in this post using vulgar names, but thoughtful contributions. Don't worry, my colleagues. The continued emphasis by directors and managers on referrals as a major component of growth and survival will save this University.
Has it occurred to any of you that some of us work on the campuses to help people who want help? Calling people vulgar names who are doing their job seems a bit extreme.
Apollo employees given talking points today regarding FTC inquiry. Directive phrased as employees to believe this was just a normal process. I would implore all employees not to answers any questions, as we are not witnesses or defendants. Please refer all questions to the Federal Trade Commission. Do not be continued to be used to benefit those at the top. Do you really think they care about you ?
Paid lobbyists will of course keep fighting. That's why they are called paid lobbyists. Political will to continue support of this endeavor might wain. This is a tax supported endeavor even the most naive will recognize as unsustainable. FTC has more authority than Department of Education, Higher Learning Commission, or Securities and Exchange Commission for that matter. Will take time to bring to a head, but certainly FTC does not lightly involve themselves without some type of concerned issues. If you see Consumer Protection Commission involve themselves, watch out. Coupled with 36 state attorney generals, the outcome for the continued existence of UOP in it's present form seems unsustainable.

Maybe not--there is a wave of anti-proprietary sentiment growing. Will the Congressional shills and lobbyists in the system fight it--sure--but at some point the school and others like it may reach critical mass and explode (or really implode). I see a "pile-on" mentality developing. In part this is due to the criminal practices of the school, but it may also be because the public university system is behind the scenes promoting for-profit bashing. Why, it helps deflect attention from the inexcusable increases in cost and dubious results of a State U degree.
This whole nonsense makes me depressed. Its been obvious to everyone even casually investigating that ALL of these schools were walking fraud factories, and yet even after ruining 10 million lives they keep on milking the taxpayers with no end in sight.
Not
All ground campuses will be shuttered this fall. It couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of assholes. A fake, contrived school. More a high school than a university. LOL.
@PB, as big as this date (September 23, 2015) could be, this won't be the end of the Phoenix. They have far too many political connections (e.g. Jane Oates, Al Sharpton, the NAACP, Margaret Spellings, Nancy Pelosi)....................https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/apollo-group-sinking-ship-dahn-shaulis?trk=mp-author-card
