Why the hell are there posts about H1Bs being laid off/going home before firing US citizens on this board every time I turn around? Anyone who has US citizenship or a green card and actually WANTS to stay in this shhole needs a SERIOUS mental examination. I can understand why the H1Bs might stay; they have to. But those of us who have the ability to work anywhere and aren't looking to GTFO are fking idiots. Titanic is sinking and we all need to GET OFF THIS SHIP. I don't want to see my friends on H1B get sent back home and if any of them on my team get laid off, I'd volunteer to take a GTFO package in their place so they can stay here. And I say this as a US citizen by birth: if you have the ability to GTFO and don't have immigration issues, then GTFO. Complaining about H1Bs taking "your" jobs is just a distraction. Would you complain too if they "stole" the dog sh** off your lawn?

An interesting #H1B trashing thread, however let me explain it to you since you don't seem to understand. Most of the QC workers I know are either A) an International and a full time engineer, or B) US citizen and a Temp employee, underemployed at a lower position. I have seen this on every team I have been on so far, and the lucky few guys to get full time are stuck at the lower level positions, while internationals are hired as senior staff right off the boat. I don't place blame on them (H1b); however the Government and employers like QC are to blame for allowing it in exchange for short term profits. In the long term it will come back to bite us all, when the economy collapses because there's no one to buy their products, because we don't have jobs. Those internationals are just going to send $ home and retire there. Those at the top don't care because they will all retire to their islands. Do you understand the irritation now?
