They are doing all they can to keep people from shopping at their stores. When I worked there we had tax free weekends (Yes I know those are governed by the states and not Staples). When we didn't have tax free weekends, Staples made up for it with sales and advertising. The dot com had their own sales, and it did not affect the stores. Now everything has changed. Those of you left are the band that played as the Titanic sank. I commend you for your dedication to your company even though your employer is trying every way to kick you to the curb.

They want to become online sales only.. that is why they are closing the SDO's and going 3rd party courier.. they are trying to become one huge company to beat Amazon sales.
This has been stated over and over again, they want to grow online and shrink B&M retail.

So what you are saying is they would love to eventually move everything online so that they don't have to pay so much overhead re: rent, sales staff, management, etc.? I notice that a lot of products have been moving to online only. Interesting.
