Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

An open letter to HR....

Many of us do not wish to work for Halliburton. We want our layoff package and our bonus, which we were promised. Please simply send everyone an email. "Would you take a voluntary layoff, if requested".

I was laid off by BHI in March 2015, at the Super Centre in Leduc, they just laid 50 of the guys that worked there and I could honestly say that a the way the laid off off was kind of low , no warning whatsoever . We had like a 5 minute warning before they called us in in the office one buy one to tell to gather our stuff and leave the building with escorts showing the door . I often worked 7 days a week , just last year I had 640 hrs just in o/t , but obviously it don't mean shit to them how many hours u put in for them. We were told that we had a great year in 2014, so we all receive 3,500 bonus and that gave us really nice Baker Hughes coats , had my performance review on a Wednesday with great results and I was told I would be getting a raise . Well come the week after that, all changed they gave us our coats and bonus and basically told us that we were getting laid off.Come lay off all white guys got laid off off while not one Philipino was laid off.So all in all guess who decided who was getting laid off!!! A Philipino of course!!! Many of them don't even have their Canadian citizenship.

So bottom line some employees are suing Baker Hughes for wrongful dismissal. These TFW Must leave this country so we can get back to work asap..

Well isn't it just like a confederate brother to give up and wave the white flag--an then of course whine about it for the next 200 or so years.

It is racist to refer to all Asians as Chinks. Asian refers to many different nationalities.

It is the right thing to do. I don't understand why management won't talk directly to employees about layoffs. Why is it considered such a secretive subject. We are not children that can't understand. For once Baker management ,do the right thing and give us that option.

A lot of folks would take this but it's probably too much like common sense for them to do it.
