Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Rockies BU

From what we've heard the Bakken is going to be one of the few assets that has cash diverted into it from some of the deep sea operations (and like) that are being shut down. But obviously no one will go untouched in this downturn. Anybody heard how bad it's going to get up in the RBU?

I heard that RBU is doing better than other folks - it's not good, but better. Now, I think most of the modelling for layoffs was done at $68/barrel level, and we are not even close to that, so I guarantee you that we'll see cuts again very soon as we are bleeding money. RBU affected? I'd say that there will be no place to hide, but if there is 'better' spot (not a good one, merely a bit better one) that'd be the Rockies - just my cents based on 33 years of industry experience and some internal chatter info I got recently.
