Do you really think this was wrote by a corporate person? I think it was someone just messing with us. No one there would ever read this web site.

I think that the original poster believes they are supporting the outfitters in whatever role they have at the corporate offices -as I am sure they have plenty of work that they do daily. However if they have not worked in a retail store in the last year they have no clue what it is really like. They have terminated Sr. Managers Human Resource Manager's and Area Human Resource Managers who tried to educate their managers and district teams but you know what happens to the squeaky wheel. Unfortunately Tommy and team will continue to waste money on nature sounds and paying outside vendors to tell them what they want to hear and how they should run the company. Apex anyone?

You must not be employed at a store. May I assume you are part of the problem and not the solution? Opening to many stores. Cant afford it ,not meeting sales, employees not showing up because they get paid like crap but corporate execs making more money. Hmm I know I should have a desk in the office next to yours it is rocket science!

My guess is your somebody at corporates niece or nephew that needed a job? You drove by a cabelas one time with your windows down? Am i getting warmer? If you believe for one moment we are being supported by anyone at coporate you are dumber than a stuffed deer on a mountain. We support ourselves and our customers which apparently corporate doesnt understand where the money comes from . Our manager and ops manager didnt even know what a 40 was until a week ago .They have never fo)owed through on one promise , If you are a man you can do and say what you want to women, including unwanted sexting , unwanted touching , and when you go to Hr they do nothing even though you have the evidence on your phone from your boss asking if you are a naughty naughty girl? I smell a big payday coming to quite a few females employeed by cabels aka the good o boys club

Yeah corporate troll, Post Falls cut an 8 year Senior Manager in favor of a person with 7 months experience in the position and zero retail floor experience. All the leads and managers were up ended and had hours cut. This is phase 2 of a 17 phase cost cutting program aimed at increasing market share. Mean while the Outpost in Kalispell is bleeding $$ and hasn't made a comp number yet. Time to bail before they become another Sportsmans Warehouse with a Chapter 11 filing.

A lie? Please. As predicted, 2nd quarter results caused a $6.00 drop per share in stock yesterday. Their business model is flawed. Cabela's does not understand what it wants to be. Staffing is cut, hours are cut, supply chain is broken. They are trying to do a lot more with a lot less. It is coming unraveled. Several stores are underperforming expectations. You will eventually see a drastic cut-back in expansion, and/or closing of some locations. There's a great "sales pitch" when you are interviewed but from the inside it is a different story.

There are now no scheduled optics outfitters EVER. Optics has a pretty high margin and a STEEP learning curve so there should be trained people there. We now have no subject matter experts on the very expensive (7-9 THOUSAND dollar thermal /night vision scopes. The gun counter now staffs long guns, hand guns, black powder, GPS, knives, spotting scopes, range finders, knife sharpeners and optics. Most of the time we have three folks on the gun counter. It is not uncommon to help a customer for twenty minutes picking out a scope, knife or binos if you have two of three folks doing that then you have one person on the gun counter and people walk out without being helped. I should also mention that hunting is staffed very lean too so being out on the floor selling ammo, holsters or safes for thirty minutes at a time is a real possibility. One outfitter got caught SLEEPING in the gun vault and she was not even on the list of outfitters allowed in the vault. Some people can't go into the vault due to some new policy so they have to wait for another outfitter to get guns for them which can be really silly when the people that can go into the vault are at lunch. Forget about calling a " code three" which is supposed to bring help to the gun counter. You will get zero response or you will get a lecture about the lack of people that are gun safety trained. In my mind all senior managers and leads should be able to help in ALL areas of the store.

Come to the Allen Texas store and try to look at a bow , guns/optics or even shoes on a weekend! Thousands of dollars a week walk out of the store. How is that supporting the Outfitters?
