It's a dumb-ass thing to say to have a large organization and have engineers only and that they should do lower level work or something they are not skilled to do (like manage, do cost improvements, pass certifications, etc.). And when you get up in the thousands of employees, you need senior level non engineering support for more things than you would care to read here. I bet you could do your own dental work too. Let's just fire our healthcare provider too since as an engineer you could probably figure that out too and you can do it to each other.
