Seek employment elsewhere

If you are an instructor at UOP or any for-profit for that matter, I urge you to seek employment elsewhere. A lot of teachers like to think of themselves as separate from the shady business dealings that go on in the offices of admins and corporate stooges. You are not guiltless. By lending your name and reputation to institutions like these, you are giving them the last piece of the puzzle needed to swindle the unwary...the appearance of legitimacy. As instructors, we are the point of contact between students and the unethical sub-humans that are bleeding them dry. Remember that your paycheck (your "take" in this con-job) albeit small, is essentially gleaned from the pockets of the very students that naively look to you for guidance. I know the job market is rough, but there are limits to what a decent human being will do to earn a paycheck. Maybe you've skirted around the issue in your own mind, justified it, rationalized it to the point where it seemed palatable. However, we all come to a point where the incompetence, neglect, and flat out lies we encounter in the offices of our overlords make it clear that we never really ever worked for a school, but were in fact part of an elaborate scam. Every day I remained on the job after realizing that fact, I was accountable. Even if I wasn't directly responsible for misleading the students, my continued presence sent the message that the school was legitimate, at least legitimate enough for me to stick around and collect a paycheck. Every encounter with my students began to slowly chip away tiny pieces of my humanity. Eventually, I reached a breaking point and I quit. I hope the fates are kind to my students, because I know EDMC will show no mercy. When the men and women with even the slightest semblance of ability leave this organization, they won't be able to perpetrate this fraud any longer. The rats cannot run the ship without a capable crew.

I love teachers and school. I love more when students are taught more. I try to love bad men that take much money. It is hard to love them.

@"CK can go F himself!" by all means, please invest as much money in buying APOL stock--and please buy it on margin. You may also be able to buy EDMC over the counter, and ESI stock at less than $5 a share. Bridgepoint (BPI) is also less than $10. At prices like that, maybe you should mortgage your house for such an opportunity/investment in your (family's) future. @Anonymous119946, thank you for making this post. I know that some adjuncts are really struggling and that the college market is getting tighter by the day. But one must ask, which side are you on? If you aren't on the side of students or of justice, and if you aren't deliberately resisting the greed that has undermined higher education, then you are in the wrong profession.
