If it is any consolation you're in good company. Funny how the more qualified you are, the more difficult it is to find work in this environment. Companies say they want the best, most experienced people, yet when push comes to shove, they just want lower G&A so Mr. CEO can take home a larger bonus when the G&A/BOE compares favorably to competitors. Don't worry, like all other time, times will change and hopefully youwill benefit from the next cycle of wage inflation.
COP Screwed us over. If we were over qualified, they shouldn't have let us go. They hired too many kids for the jobs available. We would have stuck around long enough to train all of the new hires if they would have just LET us instead of piling on huge projects with strict deadlines.
It takes time if you are well paid, I'd say 1 month of wait time for every 20K you were making
job field? job location? job salary? date of layoff? expectations of 2-6 months minimum to find another job!
job location? number of applications to date? If looking in Bartlesville, Tulsa or Houston the competition are the individuals laid off at other energy companies.
If you are not finding 10 good fit job postings in a week expand the field, the location and/or the salary. Or be patient.
