There is been Layoffs happening in India too :(
Here the Layoffs are not announced directly, the management calls the employee and asks them to resign them-self (by giving 2-3 months of time) to avoid panic among the rest of employees. (the employee count is reducing and getting balanced by interns - no pays (fresh school grads)).
