Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

So what is the SUO bubble that was supposed to burst? Likely nothing.

Just keep waiting. If it doesn't come out, it'll come out on here.

It is very common for companies to " escort" an employee out the door after they have given their two week notice. The rationale is that they do not want the employee to "poison" other employees with discussion of EDMC's questionable ethics. EDMC seems to think that humiliating these employees by escorting them as they exit the building ( in front of a large audience of their peers) is very important. It definitely makes the other employees think that something illegal or unethical ) went on concerning this employee, thus placing the "blame" on someone other than themselves.

It is so sad that a large company like EDMC would use their "version" of what actually happened to their own advantage. I need to say this: Most of us poured heart and soul into our mission of helping those people who were less fortunate than ourselves. Every time a student graduated and obtained a job hat they could not have secured without their education. We worked tirelessly, night and day to help our students secure employment that would reward them for their hard work in college. I was proud of what I did to help these graduates!
