Has anyone heard anything about store 4093 Madison, TN Kmart closing? I know the lease is up in July. Recently, we have had an exterior paint job, so that makes me wonder which way they are going to go with the store. About a month or so ago, people from corporate came to the store briefly. Are these clues of us being axed next? The store is pretty well stocked (we have a few items on clearance, but nothing that makes me too concerned). On occasion, our store is busy. We are still operating normally. Others have said that these are good signs for the store, but I'm not so convinced. Someone even told me that the lease has been resigned for another year. I have read several articles & researched our financial reports. I know it is not looking good for the company. I also know that profitable stores have been closed before & stores have closed due to the lease ending. Additionally, I know there have been cases where the lease has been terminated, although there is still time left on the agreement. I'm just looking for some clarification. Please reply if you have any answers for me. Thank you in advance.
