Same with expats from the US and Europe that are stationed in the rest of the world. They are very expensive to maintain and in majority of cases a local employee could do the same job.

The expats could still fall under European contracts and laws which give them protectlion. They may not be able to lay them off yet.

Good question. If the expats are mostly European, it is a tricky business, too expensive to be let go. If the expats have been invested by the company via relocation and training, the company will thread carefully. Labor laws are different in different countries towards different nationals.

Here we go again, but yes the post is correct. Many unneeded expats cluttering up Rankin & Woodlands and in many cases contributing nothing for Baker. Hopefully Halliburton will see sense and start shipping them out.
