Will Halliburton keep the new Baker Hughes training facility and staff it with their own personnel?

on a side note, most of the training classes in Houston have been canceled due to lack of 'resources'.

To 101530: From what I have heard the BH trainers, like Halliburton trainers, are also not getting information regarding their positions. The general consensus is when BH sells off the Pressure Pumping divisions, the Halliburton trainers will take over any classes related to pressure pumping since Halliburton has different equipment and processes. Of course, that assumes that Halliburton decides to keep the new BH training facility.

regarding the BHI training center, it was the old training center (WW Thorne) that was/is being sold, not the new one....

We in Hal training are clueless about what will happen. No one is telling us anything.

To Anonymous101017, where did you get your information because I haven't found it on any sites. In fact I heard that they wanted to keep it intact, to justify the cost of building the facility and to date, they are still holding training classes there.

To Anonymous100956, their training facility is new and from what I understand is state-of-the-art. If BH is selling off their PP division, then I would assume that Halliburton would want to use their trainers, since I have heard that Halliburton's equipment is different from BH. I agree, it would be interesting to be a fly on the wall for that one.

BHI have already announced the closure one month ago, as part of the merger.

BHI also had training sessions at some locations. Take for example the Sugar Land site where chemical and non chemical related training was held. Also note BHI spent a lot of money on individual training held by outside management companies.

pure speculation obviously... BH Houston training facility is brand new isn't it? Be silly to not use it, that said it tends to go against single site consolidation at NB. Support services, i.e. training and HR overall for that matter will be an interesting jigsaw puzzle, guessing huge overlaps all over the place, so I can't imagine all training support finding a place. The other interesting thing is that whenever two different company technologies come together, someone still needs to deliver training on both until one or the other goes away or changes to something new. Oh to be a fly on the wall for that one...
